Turning Coins into Cash without loosing 10% to Coinstar

My bank (Bank of America) stopped accepting coin deposits two years ago, therefore I am wondering how I can get my change deposited or converted into dollars without losing a significant part. Any ideas or suggestions?

Check with local banks or credit unions. Some smaller institutions or credit unions still accept coin deposits and might offer this service for free or at a low cost.

Hey there! I had the same problem when Bank of America stopped accepting coin deposits. I found a couple of good solutions. First, check if any local credit unions or smaller banks still accept coins. Some grocery stores have Coinstar machines, but they take a fee unless you opt for an e-gift card instead of cash. Alternatively, you could try rolling the coins yourself and taking them to a bank that accepts rolled coins. Lastly, consider using the coins for everyday purchases to gradually reduce your stash without losing any value. These methods worked for me and helped avoid significant losses.
