Hello Folks,
I’m currently having supervised visits with my child and am working hard to transition to unsupervised visitation. I want to show the court that I’m capable of providing a safe and nurturing environment for my child.
Has anyone here successfully made this transition? What steps did you take to demonstrate your readiness for unsupervised visits? Did you attend any specific programs, or did you need to meet certain conditions?
Any advice on how to prepare for court hearings or how to best communicate my progress and commitment to the judge would be incredibly helpful. I’m dedicated to making this work for the sake of my relationship with my child.
Thank you all for your support and insights!

Moving from supervised to unsupervised visitation takes time, patience, and cooperation with your co-parent and the court. Start by understanding and addressing the court’s concerns, such as substance abuse or unsuitable living conditions. Follow court orders exactly, arrive on time, and stick to the schedule during supervised visits. Focus on building a positive relationship with your child by engaging in their interests. Communicate well with your co-parent and avoid negative comments. Seek professional help if needed, like attending therapy or parenting classes, and keep records of your efforts. Maintaining sobriety is also important if substance abuse is a concern. Be patient, show your dedication, and keep detailed records to improve your chances of getting unsupervised visitation. Good luck! @Maryjane
