Is GlobeLife legit and worth it?

The basic plan is $33 a month, which seems really low. I questioned the guy a lot, and he didn’t seem sketchy. He also knew my coworker, which made it feel more legitimate.

Here’s a imgur link to the PDF he sent me.

Edit: It’s looking like it might have some MLM aspects, based on what others are saying. Thanks for the input.

GlobeLife is an MLM insurance company. They’re legit but rarely the best or cheapest option. If you’re considering accidental death and dismemberment policies, remember they don’t cover health issues that aren’t accidents. For example, if your appendix bursts, you’re out of luck. A good term life policy might be a better choice if you have dependents.

What are you looking to cover? Basic plans often pay very little. For example, their ambulance benefit is $150, but a short ride can cost $1500. Accident insurance is more like a supplement to medical coverage, not a replacement. It won’t help with regular health issues, only accidents. Check if your employer already offers similar coverage, as group plans are usually cheaper.

The guy said the basic plan would cover an ambulance, but now I’m wondering if he was overselling it. He did mention it’s meant for situations where you’re out of work due to an accident, like falling off a ladder or slipping on ice. It sounds useful, but I don’t see the catch yet.

@Savanna
Ask HR if your employer provides something similar. Group plans can be cheaper but might not be portable if you leave the job. The key is to check the policy’s details. For example, ‘covered’ doesn’t mean fully paid—it might only reimburse part of the cost. That’s often the catch.

If you’re asking if it’s legit, it probably isn’t the best option. But GlobeLife isn’t a scam; it’s just not great compared to other options.

It’s not a scam. GlobeLife was bought by Liberty National and is being built to compete with companies like Aflac. It’s legit but not necessarily the best choice.

It feels sketchy, but the best way to know is to look at the fine print. Try finding reviews from people who’ve used it, and don’t rely on the sales reps for honest advice.

They said they’ll mail me the forms and policy. It’s only four pages, which feels short for an insurance document. Could be good or bad.

@Savanna
When you get the paperwork, post clear pictures of it. That way, we can help you analyze the details.

They’re contacting me about a remote job. Should I avoid it?

After looking into it, it seems like an MLM setup. Be cautious and ask lots of questions during the interview to figure out what you’re getting into.

This type of insurance barely covers anything. You’re better off saving the money and using it for unexpected expenses.

What state are you in, and what’s your current insurance plan like? Compare the ‘evidence of coverage’ for your existing policy with this one. You might be better off improving your current coverage or getting a term life policy instead.
