Convince me otherwise.
Flex can work if you know how to make it work. I drive as a side gig, and it helps me make extra cash without putting too much strain on my main job. If you have an older car and don’t mind the miles, it’s decent.
@Bela
That’s the key. I only use Flex when I really need it. It saved me when I lost my job during Covid. I used to do a Flex block early morning, switch to deliveries for lunch, then run another block in the afternoon. It was long hours, but I made decent money. Now, I only do it occasionally.
@Luchivya
If I could get two blocks a day consistently, I would be making over $2000 a week. But it’s exhausting and I got burned out.

The app itself is fine, but they need to reduce the miles and stops. If Flex had more pick-up spots closer together, it would be a better deal for drivers.
@Luchivya
I did Flex for a while, and the biggest issue was long drives with too many stops. A shorter route option would make a huge difference.

Without fuel reimbursement and factoring in maintenance costs, it barely makes sense. When you do the math, the pay isn’t as great as it looks.

Exactly. People forget to include fuel, taxes, and wear and tear on the car. Once you do, the earnings don’t seem so high anymore.
If you’re unemployed or need quick cash, Flex is a lifesaver. I used it to cover food and bills while I was between jobs.

Same here. Unemployment wasn’t enough to live on, but Flex made up for it. Some weeks were rough, but overall, it helped me get through tough times.
@Lachlan
It really depends on what you need it for. I went from making $4800 a month to $1800, and rent alone was $1200. Flex helped keep me afloat.

It’s stressful at times, but if you know how to work it, you can survive. I’ve had car issues from all the miles, though.
@Lachlan
Yeah, the miles are no joke. But at least I was able to keep my bills paid and even buy gifts for family. Flex has its place, but it’s not a long-term solution.
I work full-time but use Flex for extra cash. It’s a solid side gig if you don’t rely on it for your main income.

Agreed. It helped me out during some tight months.

It’s not bad if you pick the right hours. Some days, I can make $70-$100 in just a few hours.
Flex is great in NYC. I take early morning routes and barely use any gas. The pay is solid if you can get good blocks.

How do the routes work? Do they send you all over the city, or do you stay in one borough?
