I’ve seen ads claiming you can make up to $750 a week with Apex Focus Group by doing paid focus groups. Is it worth signing up, or is it just a waste of time?
I tried it out for a couple of weeks, and it’s not what it seems. They don’t actually run the focus groups. They just connect you to other companies that do. The earnings are inconsistent, and qualifying for a study isn’t easy.
@Sienna
That’s what I was afraid of. Did you actually manage to get into any focus groups?

I applied to a few, but I didn’t qualify for any of them. I kept getting spammed with emails afterward though. So, I eventually gave up.
Apex Focus Group is legit in that they connect you to real focus groups, but it’s very hit or miss. The $750 a week claim is pretty misleading. You can make money, but don’t expect it to be consistent or high-paying.
@Suki
Yeah, I agree. I’ve made around $200 in a month from focus groups, but it took a lot of applications. And not all focus groups are available in every state, so location matters too.

Exactly. It’s not a terrible option, but you need to be patient and apply to a lot of them. You can’t rely on it for consistent income.
I signed up, but it felt like a waste of time. Got tons of spam emails, and the opportunities weren’t as good as they made it sound. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Same here! The spam emails were non-stop. I didn’t qualify for any focus groups, and they just kept promoting other random offers.
@Otis
Exactly! It’s more of an aggregator for other companies, so it’s like you’re applying for opportunities twice. Not worth the hassle.
Has anyone actually gotten paid through Apex Focus Group? Or is it just a bunch of empty promises?

I did manage to get into a focus group, and I was paid $250 for a Zoom call, so it’s possible. But it took applying to about 8 different groups before I got accepted.
@Sparrow
That’s good to hear! Did they pay you directly, or did the company running the focus group pay?

The company running the focus group paid me. Apex Focus Group just connects you to the opportunity, but they don’t handle payments themselves.
@Sparrow
Got it. I guess it’s not a total scam, but sounds like more trouble than it’s worth for me.
Honestly, Respondent and other sites like User Interviews are way better if you’re looking for legit focus groups. I’ve had better luck on those platforms and way less spam.

I second that. Respondent is much more reliable, and you can see how much each study pays upfront. Plus, they actually pay you directly!
@Tennyson
Exactly! Respondent is where I’ve made the most money. It’s straightforward and doesn’t send you through hoops like Apex Focus Group does.
Can anyone recommend a better platform for focus groups? I’m looking for something more reliable than Apex.

You should try FocusGroup.com or Respondent. They’re both much better. You won’t get as much spam, and they actually pay you directly for your participation.
