Anyone have tips on making money online...?

I’ve been reading about ways to make money online, like freelancing and selling stuff on Etsy, but I’m not sure where to start. Some of these gigs seem like they take forever to pay off. Has anyone here tried them? How long does it actually take to see money?

I’ve done freelancing on Upwork. It took me a couple of weeks to land my first gig, but once I got going, the money started coming in pretty regularly. It’s not super fast, though, so don’t expect to get paid right away.

@Jael
Same here, lol. I didn’t see any real money for a few weeks, but now I’m getting consistent gigs. The key is to build a good profile and stick with it.

@Jael
When you say ‘consistent gigs,’ how many are we talking? Like, can you make a living off of it?

I wouldn’t quit your day job just yet. I do it on the side and make a few hundred a month. It depends on your skills and how much time you put into it.

Yeah, it’s definitely more of a side hustle unless you have a lot of experience or niche skills. But once you get regular clients, it can be pretty decent money.

I tried selling on Etsy, but it took me forever to get noticed. Etsy’s really competitive unless you’ve got something super unique. I did make a few sales after a month or so, but it’s definitely not fast cash.

@WilliamMia
What kind of stuff were you selling? I’ve been thinking about trying it out, but I’m not sure what would actually sell.

Mostly handmade jewelry. It helps to have a social media presence to drive traffic to your Etsy store, but even then, it’s not a quick thing.

That’s what I’ve heard too. I tried setting up an Etsy shop for my knitted scarves, but without a lot of promotion, it’s hard to get noticed.

Anyone done website testing? I’ve seen sites like UserTesting, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it. The pay seems pretty low.

I’ve done it a few times. It’s easy, but you’re right, the pay isn’t great. I think it’s like $10 for a 20-minute test, and sometimes you wait a while between tests. Good for quick extra cash, though.

Yeah, same. It’s not a lot of money, but if you do a few tests a day, it can add up. Just don’t expect to get rich off of it.

I’ve been using AI tools to help with freelancing. It makes content creation a lot faster, but clients still want humans to do the final editing, so it’s not like AI is taking all the jobs yet.

What kind of AI tools are you using? I’ve heard about them but not sure where to start.

@Wynter
Mostly AI writing tools like ChatGPT. They help with the first draft, but I still do a lot of the editing. It’s great for saving time, though.

@Wynter
Wait, what’s ChatGPT? I’ve heard people mention it, but IDK what it does.

It’s an AI tool that helps with writing. You type in what you want, and it generates a draft for you. You still have to edit it, though, since it’s not perfect.
