Anyone else having this annoying issue?

So PayPal keeps asking for the 6-digit code from my authenticator app every time I close and reopen it. First, it asks for my fingerprint, then it asks for the code. This all started after I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it inside Samsung’s Secure Folder (and yes, I’ve already tried using it outside the folder again). No matter what, it’s still asking for the code every time.

I’ve even tried uninstalling and reinstalling again, but nothing changes. Luckily, I don’t use PayPal that much, but this is still super annoying.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Just a heads-up on some common terms in this forum:

  • NAD - Not as described.
  • SNAD - Significantly not as described.
  • INR - Item Not Received.
  • UAT - Unauthorized transaction.
  • F&F - Friends and Family (no protection).
  • G&S - Goods and Services (protection for both buyer and seller).

No complaints about PayPal’s policies here, please! If you don’t like the rules, just don’t use PayPal. If you’re worried about losing money, don’t leave funds sitting in your PayPal account. Simple as that.

Try reaching out to PayPal through social media like Facebook or Twitter if you need support. It seems to work better than calling them.

Might be a long shot, but have you contacted PayPal support yet?

Not yet, but I’m planning to. It’s weird because this never happened before.

Sounds like you might’ve turned on two-step verification by accident. Try logging into the PayPal website and turning it off.

Does PayPal even have that setting? I can’t find it on the mobile app, and I’m pretty sure I never touched that option before. This only started happening after I reinstalled the app.

@Olivia
Yeah, I don’t think the app has that option. It’s easier to manage from the website. Go to Settings (the little gear icon) ==> Security (next to Account), then scroll down a bit and you’ll find two-step verification settings.
