Which 401(k) Fund is the Best?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to decide which 401(k) fund might be the best for my retirement savings. What factors should I consider when choosing a fund, and do you have any recommendations for top-performing funds?

Generally speaking, choose a Roth if you are in a lower tax bracket. Investing 80% in S&P 500 funds and 20% in iShares International is what I would advise. After that, take your time and begin studying about investment. You can diversify even more as you get more knowledgeable

Looking for the best 401(k) investments? Consider these options:

  • Fidelity 500 Index (FXAIX): Good for large company stocks.
  • Vanguard Mid-Cap Index Institutional (VMCIX): For medium-sized company stocks.
  • Vanguard S&P Small-Cap 600 Index (VSMSX): For smaller company stocks.

For myself, I would only set up a target date fund. You should have at least some foreign diversity and a modest bond allocation at 33. Choose a date that is later than your actual retirement goal if you want to be more ambitious.
