US Bank Closed my bank accounts without warning?

Hello everyone, I am really confused. When I checked my bank balances today, my checking and savings accounts were just… gone. I called the bank, and they told me a branch manager personally closed them. I still have five credit cards open with available credit.

They mailed a check a few days ago, and if I didn’t have those credit cards, I would be in serious trouble. I don’t engage in any unusual transactions, except for an incident a few months ago when I yelled at an ATM because the NFC card function was not working.

I am not sure if I should be angry yet, but I am shocked. What is going on?

I would suggest reaching out to the bank again to get a clear explanation and ensure everything related to your accounts is sorted out properly. Understanding the reason behind the closure will help you figure out what to do next.

Wow, that’s scary. Banks can close accounts for suspicious activity, but yelling at an ATM probably isn’t the only reason. There might be a policy violation you’re unaware of. Call the bank back, ask for a manager, and explain what happened calmly. Hopefully, they can explain why they closed the accounts and maybe even help you reopen them if it was a misunderstanding.

  • Contact Your Bank Immediately: If the bank closed your accounts without notifying you, call or visit your bank right away. Ask them what you need to do to get your money as soon as possible.
  • Stop Direct Deposits and Automatic Withdrawals: If you have any payments going into or coming out of your account automatically, cancel them immediately.

Hey there, if US Bank wishes to close your accounts for any reason, at any moment, they can do so; you agreed to this when you started the account. Simply call them and ask why they did it.
