If Your Parent Refuses to Help With FAFSA and You Don’t Qualify for a Dependency Override, How Do You Pay for School?

True, but what about other bills—car insurance, health insurance, rent, etc.?

You might not be able to go full-time. Are you still in high school in the U.S.? Talk with your counselor about earning college credits now through AP courses, dual enrollment, or CLEP exams.

If you don’t want to wait, consider working abroad. Some countries offer working tourist visas, allowing you to travel while earning money. Then come back to school later with a fresh perspective and no debt.

School isn’t the only option in life right now.

@Jin
That sounds amazing, might consider it! But honestly, I just want to figure out how to pay for school without FAFSA.

Once you’re 24, you won’t need your parents’ info to qualify for financial aid.

@Larkin
Yeah, I get that, but I really don’t want to wait until I’m 24 to start school.

Then try to convince your parents to fill out the FAFSA.
