I might’ve messed up… I’ve been trying to get a loan for a while but don’t have much info on how to do it. I have a good credit score and make $35,000 a year.
I applied at onemain, happy lending, and rocket loans but got denied each time for not having enough credit history.
I came across 5k funds through the lending club website, which I assumed would be a reliable source, so I put in my information. Right after, I couldn’t make an account or get any info on whether my application was accepted.
When I googled 5k funds, I noticed the site barely shows up and there’s not much info from real users. Now I’m worried I might’ve put my SSN into a scam site.
Any advice? Has anyone else used this site? Really hoping to get a loan for medical reasons and trying to avoid any mistakes.
Not sure about 5k funds specifically, but maybe try checking if any local credit unions offer personal loans. Some medical offices also let you pay on credit for services. Best of luck!

I also applied and now I’m worried about it being a scam.
any updates?
No emails or letters yet, and I haven’t been approved for the loan either. But a derogatory mark popped up on my credit report from a collection agency for $650, tied to a hospital I’ve never been to. Not sure if it’s related to 5k funds, but it showed up shortly after I applied.
